Treatment of essential hypertension and heart failure (intolerance to ACE inhibitors), reduction of mortality risk after myocardial infarction
This medicine is mainly used for essential hypertension and heart failure. It is particularly suitable for heart failure patients (NYHA Class II to IV) who cannot use ACE inhibitors. Additionally, it helps reduce the risk of death in patients with impaired left ventricular function after myocardial infarction. Therefore, it plays a crucial role in controlling blood pressure, alleviating heart failure symptoms, and improving survival rates after myocardial infarction. This medicine is used to enhance cardiovascular health.
Essential Hypertension: It is recommended to take 80 mg orally once a day as valsartan. If blood pressure is not well controlled, the dose can be increased to 160 mg daily or combined with diuretics, and if necessary, the dose may be increased up to a maximum of 320 mg daily. Elderly (75 years and older): Start with 40 mg orally once daily. Heart Failure: It is recommended to take 40 mg orally twice daily, with a potential for dosage increase to 80 mg or 160 mg per dose.
The safety and efficacy have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
