This medicine is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis that occurs in postmenopausal women. It increases bone density and reduces the risk of fractures.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Administer 60 mg orally once a day as Raloxifene Hydrochloride.

Precautions

This drug may increase the risk of blood clots in the blood, so it should be used with caution in patients at risk of thrombosis. If mobility is restricted, the use of this drug should be temporarily discontinued. This drug is primarily processed in the liver, so patients with impaired liver function must consult a physician before taking it. Its use is not recommended in premenopausal women. It should not be used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and special caution is required for patients with a history of stroke. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should not take this medication. Patients with a history of thrombosis or liver disease are also advised against using this drug. Patients allergic to this drug should avoid using it. This drug contains lactose and is not suitable for patients with lactose intolerance. Patients with high blood lipid levels or severe kidney disorders should consult their physician before taking this drug. During treatment, side effects such as thrombosis, leg cramps, facial flushing, peripheral edema, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, hypertension, headaches, rash, itching, palpitations, fever, weakness, sweating, muscle pain, insomnia, perineal pain, weight gain, arthritis, rheumatic symptoms, pain, fatigue, tightness, chest discomfort, skin lesions, anxiety, weight loss, convulsions, and taste disturbances may occur, so if symptoms are severe, consult a healthcare provider. This drug can interact with other medications, so you must inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are currently taking. Taking this medication during pregnancy can harm the fetus, so avoid it if you plan to conceive or are currently pregnant. This drug should not be used in children or men. It is recommended to ensure adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D during treatment. It is advisable to improve smoking or drinking habits if applicable. Keep this drug out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.
