Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are hypersensitive to its ingredients. Patients with impaired renal or hepatic function or elderly patients should use this medication with caution. Various side effects such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and skin rash have been reported in clinical trials and post-marketing studies. This medication may cause drowsiness; therefore, caution should be exercised when engaging in hazardous activities such as driving or operating machinery. Patients who have been on prolonged steroid treatment should taper the steroid dose gradually when taking this medication. Patients with decreased renal function may have elevated blood concentrations of this medication, so starting at a low dose and adjusting the dosage may be necessary if adverse reactions occur. For patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis, it is advisable to start the medication when symptoms frequently occur during the relevant season and to continue taking it until symptoms subside. If no effect is observed, it is best not to use it for an extended period. Like other antihistamines, avoid excessive alcohol consumption while taking this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should preferably avoid using this medication and should make decisions cautiously in consultation with a physician when absolutely necessary. Breastfeeding women should also avoid this medication if possible, as it may transfer to the baby through breast milk. The safety of this medication in children has not been sufficiently established, so caution is necessary. Elderly patients should be careful with dosing because the drug may remain in the body longer due to decreased renal function. This medication may interfere with allergy tests, so it is recommended to discontinue use before such tests. When taking this medication, tablets should be withdrawn from their packaging, and care must be taken not to swallow the packaging material. Finally, this medication should be stored in a tightly closed container, away from moisture, and in a cool place below 30 degrees Celsius, out of reach of children.
