Treatment of respiratory, ear, nose, dental, skin, and genital infections; prevention of meningococcal infection
This medication is used to treat various bacterial infections. It is primarily effective against respiratory infections such as pharyngitis, acute bronchitis, tonsillitis, bacterial pneumonia, and mycoplasma pneumonia. It is also used to treat genital infections and sexually transmitted infections, except those caused by gonococcus, and is applicable for otitis media and sinusitis. It is effective for skin infections, treating various infectious diseases such as folliculitis, furuncles, soft tissue infections, lymphangitis, and purulent paronychia. It also helps in infection prevention for individuals who have been in contact with patients having meningococcal meningitis. Additionally, it is used to treat pericoronitis and periodontal disease, improving overall infection management.
Adults: Administer 150 mg (potency) of roxithromycin orally per dose twice daily, before breakfast and dinner. For pneumonia, administer 300 mg (potency) once daily before breakfast. Adjust the dosage as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Patients with myasthenia gravis may experience worsened symptoms when taking this medication, so it should be used with caution in these cases.
