This medication is used to relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, tearing, sore throat, and heavy head caused by common cold, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis.

How to take

Adult dose

Ages 15 and over: 1 to 2 capsules per dose, 3 times a day, taken after each meal.

Child dose

Ages 8 to under 15 years: 1 capsule per dose, 3 times a day, taken after each meal.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by infants under 3 months of age. People who have experienced allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients should not take it. Individuals currently taking or having ceased MAO inhibitors (such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and anti-Parkinson's drugs) within the last 2 weeks should avoid this medication. Those allergic to soybean oil, soy, and peanuts should also refrain from using this medication. While taking this medication, do not use other oral medications for rhinitis or cold medications that contain antihistamines, cough suppressants, antiemetics, or allergy medications concurrently. Before taking this medication, individuals who are allergic or have experienced allergic symptoms from medications, such as hives, contact dermatitis, migraines, or food allergies, should consult a physician or pharmacist. People with hypertension, heart disease, kidney disease, edema, glaucoma, urinary difficulty, thyroid disease, diabetes, or who are frail or have high fever should also consult a healthcare professional before taking it. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing, elderly individuals, and patients currently in treatment should seek advice before use. Smokers or individuals with asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, severe cough with excessive phlegm persisting for over a week, recurring cough, fever, rash, or persistent headache should consult a physician. Patients with lipid metabolism disorders such as dyslipidemia or pancreatitis, or those allergic to Yellow No. 5 in this medication should also take it with caution. During the use of this medication, if symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, severe thirst, constipation, loss of appetite, rash, itching, urinary difficulty, headache, facial flushing, or photophobia occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Serious side effects such as anaphylaxis, high blood pressure, and muscle weakness may occur rarely; if these symptoms are suspected, stop using the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, if symptoms do not improve after 5 to 6 doses, stop taking it and consult an expert. This medication should not be given to children under 2 years of age without medical consultation if absolutely necessary. The prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly followed, and prolonged use should be avoided. When administered to children, supervision by a guardian is necessary. Drowsiness may occur during use, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided, and alcohol should be abstained from. Patients with lipid metabolism difficulties should check their blood lipid levels and adjust the dosage as necessary. When administered with lipids used for injection, dosage adjustments should consider the lipid content. This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to avoid exposure to air or moisture. It is best to keep the storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, cold sweat, pallor, difficulty breathing, hemorrhagic stroke, urinary difficulty, symptoms of shock (anaphylaxis), symptoms of hyperaldosteronism (decreased urine output, swelling of the face and hands, elevated blood pressure, headache), symptoms of myopathy (weakness, limb cramps, paralysis).
