This medication is used to relieve various symptoms associated with a cold, such as sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

For individuals aged 15 and older and adults: Take 1 tablet three times a day after meals, 30 minutes after eating.

Precautions

This medication can cause liver damage, so individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages per day should consult a healthcare professional before taking it. If unusual reactions such as skin rash, blisters, or severe itching occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. As it contains acetaminophen, care must be taken not to exceed a maximum daily dose of 4,000mg and it should not be taken with other medications containing acetaminophen. Avoid taking this medication concurrently with other medications that contain similar ingredients or with antipyretic analgesics, cold medications, sedatives, or antihistamines. In particular, individuals who have had allergic reactions to this medication or its components, those who have a history of asthma, infants under 3 months of age, or those with certain genetic disorders should refrain from usage. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, individuals with liver, kidney, or heart conditions, elderly individuals, or those with gastrointestinal diseases should consult a healthcare professional before taking the medication. If symptoms such as rash, itching, vomiting, dizziness, or difficulty breathing occur during use, it is important to discontinue use immediately and inform healthcare personnel. Children under 2 years of age should generally not take this medication, and if necessary, must receive a physician's consultation. Adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and duration, avoid long-term use, and refrain from alcohol consumption. Store this medication in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and keep it out of reach of children.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • High fever with severe rash, blistering, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucosa → severe skin reactions
  • Asthma, breathlessness or difficulty breathing, coughing with fever → respiratory issues
  • Skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice), severe lethargy → liver issues (jaundice)

Mild side effects

Rash, redness, itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with other products containing acetaminophen. Avoid concurrent use with MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, antiparkinsonian drugs, etc.), cough suppressants, other cold medications, antipyretic analgesics, sedatives, and antihistamines (oral medications for rhinitis, motion sickness, allergy medications). Also avoid diabetes medications, gout medications, arthritis medications, anticoagulants, steroids, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants.

Food interactions

Caution is advised when taking this medication with alcohol.
