Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer, convulsions, serious lung disease, liver dysfunction, nephritis, heart failure, alcohol addiction, hypoxemia, hypertension, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, and hypotension. Symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and nausea may occur during use, and hypersensitivity reactions like itching or rash may also occur. Occasionally, side effects such as drowsiness, muscle pain, insomnia, indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abnormal liver function, edema, and palpitations have been reported. The incidence of side effects may be higher in the elderly, so caution is required. This medication may not be excreted well in patients with impaired liver and kidney function or in the elderly, leading to increased drug concentrations. Caution is also needed when taken with other xanthine drugs or central nervous system stimulants, sympathomimetics such as caffeine, aminophylline, and theophylline, as interactions may occur. Additionally, concurrent use with certain antibiotics, steroids, diuretics, and contraceptives may decrease or increase drug excretion, so it should be taken under medical advice. The safety of this medication in pregnant or lactating women has not been adequately confirmed, and it should only be used when absolutely necessary and under the judgment of a doctor. Safety and efficacy have not been established for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, insomnia, convulsions, and arrhythmia may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought for appropriate treatment. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers, as this is important for maintaining its quality.
