Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It is safer for women who may become pregnant or are breastfeeding not to take this medication. This medication is not administered to patients with severe liver dysfunction or specific liver diseases or severe renal impairment. People who have an allergic reaction to this medication should also refrain from using it. Caution is particularly necessary for elderly patients or patients with high potassium levels or slightly impaired liver function. Blood pressure may drop too low, or dizziness may occur, so starting at a low dose is advised, and conditions must be carefully monitored. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should also carefully monitor for changes in renal function. The blood potassium levels may rise dangerously when taken with other antihypertensive medications, diuretics, or potassium supplements, so caution is advised. Additionally, using this medication with certain anti-inflammatory pain relievers may reduce blood pressure control effects, so caution is required. Possible side effects include headache, dizziness, fatigue, cough, indigestion, and, rarely, serious adverse reactions such as angioedema, renal impairment, or hepatitis. If any abnormal symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately. This medication is not recommended for use in children or adolescents as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop sharply, and loss of consciousness may present a risk, so immediate emergency treatment is required. Store this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.
