Treatment of various bacterial infections such as respiratory infections and urinary tract infections
This medication is used to treat various infections caused by bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Shigella, and Salmonella. It is effective for respiratory infections other than acute bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia, and is also applicable for infections related to the ear, nose, and throat. Additionally, it is used for the treatment of bacterial prostatitis, urinary tract infections, gonococcal cervicitis, and urethritis. It is also effective for gastrointestinal infections, infections of the bile ducts, skin and soft tissue infections, and infections of bone and joints. It is utilized for treating gynecological infections, peritonitis, as well as infections such as dacryocystitis and hordeolum around the eyes. However, this medication may have the potential for serious adverse reactions and should be used only when there are no alternative treatments for specific infections. This medication is used to treat various bacterial infections.
For typical adults, ciprofloxacin is taken orally at 250 to 500 mg per dose, twice a day between meals. For severe complicated infections, the dose may be increased to 750 mg per dose, twice a day. In acute infections, treatment typically lasts 5 to 10 days, and at least 3 additional days after the symptoms have resolved. For patients with renal impairment, the dosage should be adjusted according to creatinine clearance. For example, if creatinine clearance is between 5 to 29 mL/min:
This medication may cause serious side effects such as tendinitis or tendon rupture, so it should be discontinued immediately if these symptoms appear. In particular, patients with myasthenia gravis should avoid this medication as it may worsen their symptoms. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 18, patients with epilepsy, those allergic to this medication, or patients who have a history of tendinitis or tendon rupture should not take it. Additionally, serious side effects may occur when used in conjunction with certain medications, so it is crucial to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications you are currently taking. This medication should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function, the elderly, and patients with a history of seizures. While taking this medication, symptoms such as seizures, dizziness, mental disturbances, severe diarrhea, skin rashes, myalgia, and visual disturbances may occur; if any of these symptoms appear, you should consult a healthcare professional immediately. This medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight, thus during treatment, strong sunlight or exposure to artificial UV rays should be avoided, and appropriate protective measures should be taken when necessary. Diabetic patients requiring blood sugar control should frequently check their blood glucose levels as hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia may occur. This medication has a high potential for drug interactions, particularly if taken with anticoagulants, diabetes medications, immunosuppressants, and certain pain relievers, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, kidney damage may occur, thus the prescribed dosage should be strictly followed, and doses should not be increased without a doctor's instruction. Store in a place away from children's reach, protecting it from direct sunlight and UV exposure.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by coughing and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), significant fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination issues.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. Additionally, it is recommended to store the drug at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
