Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily, regardless of meals. The dosage range is from 10/5 mg to 10/20 mg per day. An initial dosage of 10/5 mg once daily is recommended. For patients requiring further reduction in LDL cholesterol, the dosage may be adjusted. After starting treatment or adjusting the dosage, lipid levels should be checked at intervals of at least 4 weeks to modify the dosage accordingly. The maximum daily dose is 10/20 mg.

This medication can cause serious muscle issues; therefore, if sudden muscle pain or weakness occurs, inform a doctor immediately and undergo testing. In cases of serious infections, hypotension, major surgery or trauma, metabolic abnormalities, or uncontrolled seizures, this medication should be temporarily discontinued. Patients with allergies to the components of this medication or those with severely impaired liver function, muscle diseases, patients taking certain immunosuppressants, severely impaired kidney function, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. Moreover, patients at high risk of developing myopathy or rhabdomyolysis, such as those with moderate to severe kidney problems, hypothyroidism, a family history of muscle diseases, or a history of muscle side effects with other statins or fibrates, individuals with alcohol dependence, and Asian patients are prohibited from taking high doses of this medication. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic conditions should avoid it. Individuals with a history of alcohol dependence or liver disease should use this medication cautiously, and it is not recommended for patients with severely impaired liver function. Elderly patients or those with risk factors for myopathy should closely monitor their muscle condition during treatment. This medication may elevate liver enzyme levels; thus, liver function tests should be performed before starting and regularly during treatment. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication to ensure the health of the fetus and baby, and women of childbearing potential should use adequate contraception during treatment. This medication is not recommended for children, as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. When taking this medication, potential interactions with other drugs may occur, so it is essential to inform a doctor or pharmacist about any other medications being taken. Special precautions are needed when used in conjunction with anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, antifungals, immunosuppressants, or fibrates. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions on the skin, so if symptoms such as rash, itching, or facial swelling occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor. There is no specific antidote for overdose; treatment should be based on symptoms, and liver function and muscle enzyme tests should be conducted. Store in a place inaccessible to children, and do not transfer to another container.
