Improvement of lipid levels in hypercholesterolemia (primary, mixed) and suppression of the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease
This medication is used to improve cholesterol and related lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It lowers total cholesterol, bad LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, and raises good HDL cholesterol levels. It is also administered alongside an appropriate diet for patients at risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used as an adjunct when diet and non-pharmacological measures are insufficient, and it is important to identify and treat other causes of dyslipidemia. Prior to dosing, lipid profiles (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, etc.) should be checked, and management should be guided by the patient's condition. In summary, this medication is effectively used to control blood lipid levels and reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases.
This medication is taken once daily, regardless of meals. For the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia, it is taken within a range of 10/5 mg to 10/20 mg per day, with an initial dose of 10/5 mg being recommended. If a greater reduction in LDL cholesterol is required, the dosage may be adjusted. Blood lipid levels should be checked at intervals of more than 4 weeks after administration or dose adjustment, and a maximum of 10/20 mg per day may be increased.

Liver function tests are also necessary, and if liver enzyme levels remain persistently high at more than three times the normal upper limit, the dosage of this medication should be reduced or discontinued.
