This medicine is used to relieve various cold symptoms such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Aged 15 years and older: take 2 capsules three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Child dose

Aged 7 to under 15 years: take 1 capsule three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medication can cause liver damage, so individuals who regularly consume three or more alcoholic beverages per day must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Since it contains acetaminophen, serious skin reactions such as severe rash or blisters can rarely occur, and if such symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued immediately. When taking this medication, care should be taken not to exceed the maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen, which is 4,000mg, and it should not be taken with other products containing acetaminophen. Due to the pseudoephedrine component, severe skin reactions such as fever, erythema, and pustules can occur, and if such symptoms appear, the medication should be discontinued and a healthcare professional consulted. This medication should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients, have experienced hypersensitivity, have a history of asthma, are infants under 3 months old, are taking certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications, or have uncontrolled hypertension, or serious kidney diseases. During treatment, it is safe not to take cough suppressants, expectorants, other cold medications, pain relievers, sedatives, or antihistamines concurrently. Children who have had or are suspected of having chickenpox or flu, those with allergic tendencies or a history of drug allergic reactions, those with liver, kidney, heart, or thyroid diseases, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, swelling, dizziness, etc. appear during use, discontinue and consult a healthcare professional, and seek immediate treatment if there are severe allergic reactions, skin diseases, asthma, or signs of liver dysfunction. It is generally not recommended for children under 2 years old to take this medication unless absolutely necessary and under the guidance of a physician. Adhere closely to the prescribed dosage and duration of use and avoid long-term use; it is advised to refrain from drinking alcohol. Also, drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so activities such as driving or operating machinery should be avoided, and consultation with a professional is recommended as the risk of side effects may increase when combined with certain medications.

Serious side effects

  • hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, cold sweat, paleness → severe allergic reaction
  • severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa → severe skin reaction
  • shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever → respiratory problems
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound fatigue → liver issues (jaundice)
  • sudden and severe headache

Mild side effects

rash, redness (congestion), itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, dryness, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with other products containing acetaminophen. Do not take it concurrently with MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, Parkinson's drugs, etc.), and do not take this medication within 2 weeks after stopping those medications. Do not take it with cough suppressants, expectorants, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Additionally, it should not be taken with diabetes medications,
