Improvement of symptoms in allergic rhinitis (seasonal, perennial) and rhinosinusitis, nasal polyp.
This medication is used to prevent and relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children over 2 years of age. It is particularly effective when taken 2 to 4 weeks before the onset of allergy symptoms. Additionally, in adults over 18 years of age, it helps manage nasal polyps that develop in the sinuses. It is also used for alleviating symptoms of acute rhinosinusitis without bacterial infection in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. It helps in treating nasal-related conditions across various age groups.
Allergic rhinitis: Generally, 2 sprays in each nostril once daily (total daily dosage 0.2 mg). When symptoms improve, the maintenance dosage can be reduced to 1 spray in each nostril (total daily dosage 0.1 mg). If symptoms do not improve, the dosage can be increased to a maximum of 4 sprays in each nostril once daily (total daily dosage 0.4 mg). Nasal polyps: Generally, 2 sprays in each nostril once daily.
Allergic rhinitis: Generally, 1 spray in each nostril once daily (total daily dosage 0.1 mg).
This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or its components, those who have untreated infections of the nasal mucosa, patients who have recently undergone nasal surgery or who have injuries in the nasal passages, and infants under 2 years of age should not use this medication. Additionally, patients with respiratory tuberculosis, systemic infections, frequent nosebleeds, those at risk of exposure to chickenpox or measles, certain nasal polyp patients, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should use this medication with caution. Nosebleeds can happen frequently, so caution is advised. Rarely, severe allergic reactions such as bronchospasm or breathing difficulties may occur; if these symptoms arise, use of the medication should be stopped immediately, and medical attention should be sought. Prolonged use at high doses may lead to systemic corticosteroid side effects; therefore, regular check-ups and following the physician's guidance are important. If a nasal infection occurs, the use of this medication should be stopped or appropriate treatment should be sought, especially if irritation of the nasal mucosa persists. This medication may affect growth rate, so pediatric patients should be regularly monitored for growth status. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should decide carefully on the use of this medication considering the risks to the fetus and infant. This medication can interact with other drugs, particularly with certain antifungals or antibiotics, potentially increasing the risk of side effects, so caution should be exercised. Before use, shake the container well and perform a spray test to ensure it works normally; care should be taken not to spray directly onto areas other than the nasal passages.
