Dobesila Tablet (Dobesilic Acid Calcium Hydrate)

Adult dose

Adults: Administer the following doses of calcium dobesilate hydrate orally. 1. Vascular lesions and retinopathy: 500 ∼ 1000 mg daily 2. Venous disease: 750 mg daily for 1 ∼ 3 weeks, followed by 500 mg daily. Take after meals with plenty of fluids. The dosage may be adjusted according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. Individuals allergic to this drug or its components should not use it. Additionally, it contains lactose, so patients with genetic issues like galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Caution is necessary for patients with poor kidney function. Since this drug is excreted through the kidneys, dosage may need adjustment for renal failure patients. Extra care is needed for patients with severe renal failure requiring dialysis. Patients with impaired liver function should also exercise caution. When using this drug in patients with liver failure, it is important to closely monitor liver enzyme levels and reassess treatment as necessary. This medication contains sodium sulfite, which can trigger allergic reactions in some individuals, particularly those with asthma, so it is essential to consult with a physician prior to use. During this medication, gastrointestinal disturbances such as headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting may occur. Joint pain and muscle pain are also commonly reported, and skin rashes or allergic reactions may occur rarely. If symptoms such as high fever, sore throat, or frequent infections arise, contact a physician immediately and have blood tests performed. This medication can rarely cause serious blood abnormalities. If hypersensitivity reactions occur, discontinue use immediately and inform medical personnel. The effect of this drug on driving or operating machinery is unknown, so caution is needed. It is advisable to avoid using this medication during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consider interrupting treatment or breastfeeding if necessary. Safety in children has not been sufficiently studied, so caution is advised when using it in pediatric patients. There are no special precautions for elderly patients, but it should be used considering individual conditions.
