Bepotastine Besilate 10mg Tablets

Adult dose

The usual dose for adults is 10 mg of bepotastine besilate orally twice daily. The dose may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components. It should be administered with caution in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction, and in elderly patients. While taking this medication, side effects may occur, including drowsiness, lethargy, headache, and dizziness. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, vomiting, diarrhea, as well as changes in blood values, increased liver enzyme levels, and skin rash may also occur. Care should be taken during driving or operating hazardous machinery as drowsiness may occur. For patients who have been on long-term steroid treatment, it is safer to gradually reduce steroids when taking this medication. In patients with impaired renal function, the blood concentration of this medication may increase; thus, it is advisable to start with a lower dose and monitor the condition closely. Caution is advised in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis, and it is better to avoid long-term use if no effect is observed. This medication may increase the risk of side effects when taken with alcohol, so it is advisable not to combine them. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid this medication unless absolutely necessary and after consulting with a physician. Breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid taking this medication during breastfeeding. Safety in pediatric patients has not been sufficiently established; therefore, it should be used with caution. Elderly patients may be at risk of increased drug concentration due to decreased renal function, so caution is necessary. This medication may interfere with allergy testing, so it is advisable to stop taking it before the tests. When taking the medication, it should be taken out of the packaging and care should be taken not to swallow the packaging. Finally, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool place below 30 degrees Celsius, away from moisture.
