How to take

Adult dose

For adults with severe infections and respiratory infections, administer 2 tablets orally, twice daily at 12-hour intervals. The dose may be reduced based on the level of renal function for patients with renal impairment. This medication should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate below 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This medication is a penicillin antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients with hypersensitivity to this drug's components or beta-lactam antibiotics may experience a severe allergic reaction if this medication is used. Moreover, patients with infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash and should use this medication with caution. Patients with liver dysfunction may also experience a recurrence of liver damage due to this medication, so they should avoid its administration. Patients with poor liver function should use this medication cautiously, as it may worsen liver function, and patients with moderate to severe renal impairment may require adjustment of the drug's administration interval due to a risk of drug accumulation and increased possibility of side effects. Furthermore, patients with allergies, elderly patients, and those with poor nutritional status may experience vitamin deficiencies or hypersensitivity reactions during medication. Gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, and abdominal pain may occur with this medication. In severe cases, serious conditions like pseudomembranous colitis or intestinal bleeding can develop. If any abnormal symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Rarely, liver dysfunction may arise, so regular liver function tests are recommended during long-term administration. Skin rashes, itching, and in severe cases, serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur. If these symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately. Rare blood-related adverse reactions such as leukopenia and thrombocytopenia may also occur, necessitating regular blood tests. Central nervous system side effects such as anxiety, drowsiness, and seizures may rarely occur, so inform healthcare providers of any unusual behavior or symptoms. Regular check-ups are necessary for patients with renal impairment due to the potential for sudden deterioration of kidney function. This medication may interact with other drugs, particularly anticoagulants, anti-inflammatory drugs, and oral contraceptives, so caution is needed when taken together. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with their physician before use, considering the safety for the fetus and infant. This drug is not recommended for children under 12 years or weighing less than 40 kg due to limited experience. Elderly patients are at an increased risk of side effects due to declining bodily functions, so dosage and administration intervals should be carefully adjusted. When using this medication, it is important to administer it only for the necessary minimum period to prevent the development of resistant bacteria. Caution is also advised regarding the potential for the proliferation of non-susceptible bacteria with long-term use. Overdose may present with symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, and rash; in severe cases, renal failure or seizures may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention. Store in a dry place below 25 degrees Celsius, and therefore it is safest to consult a physician or pharmacist immediately if any abnormal symptoms arise during use.
