This medication is effective in relieving various symptoms such as runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain due to colds. It plays a role in quickly alleviating unpleasant symptoms of colds, thereby improving the patient's quality of life. Therefore, it is used when aiming to manage several symptoms of a cold at once.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, for adults (aged 15 and older) 2 capsules at a time, taken three times a day 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day, as it can cause liver damage; it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. Due to the presence of acetaminophen, serious skin reactions may occur rarely, so if a skin rash or allergic reaction develops, use should be discontinued immediately. Do not exceed the maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen, which is 4,000 mg, and avoid taking this medication with other medications that contain acetaminophen. The presence of pseudoephedrine means that if symptoms like fever, rash, or small blisters appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. This medication contains artificial color Yellow No. 4; those allergic to this substance should use it cautiously. Those with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or its components, those who have experienced asthma, infants under 3 months old, and those currently taking or having recently stopped taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors like certain antidepressants or antipsychotics should not use this medication. Patients with certain genetic disorders such as lactose intolerance or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid this medication. Do not use it alongside cough medications, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines during treatment. Children suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with certain allergies, liver or kidney disease, heart disease, thyroid disease, diabetes, hypertension, gastrointestinal disease, glaucoma, and urinary retention should consult with a healthcare professional before use. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should also discuss it with a doctor before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, nausea, vomiting, swelling, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, or insomnia occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If severe symptoms such as anaphylactic shock, severe skin reactions, asthma, liver dysfunction, interstitial pneumonia, or muscular diseases occur, use should be stopped immediately. If symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, consult a doctor. Children under 2 years old should not use it unless directed by a physician. Always adhere to the prescribed dosage and duration of use, and avoid prolonged use. When giving to children, it should be administered under adult supervision, and alcohol should be avoided during treatment. Drowsiness may occur, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided. Care should be taken with respect to liver function when taken alongside certain medications, and careful monitoring is needed if this medication is taken with flucloxacillin. Store this medication out of reach of children, and keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, shortness of breath, cold sweat, paleness → severe allergic reaction. High fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eyes → severe skin abnormal reaction. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough and fever → respiratory problems. Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver abnormality (jaundice). Decreased urine output.

Mild side effects

Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, swelling (edema), difficulty urinating, persistent or severe thirst, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high-anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA), rash, redness (erythema), pruritus

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take with oral medications containing antitussives, other cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if you are taking barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, potassium-containing preparations, glycyrrhizin-containing products, loop diuretics, or thiazide diuretics.
