Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. Patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction and the elderly should exercise caution when using this medication. Some individuals in clinical trials who took this medication experienced neurological side effects such as drowsiness, headache, and dizziness. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may also occur. Blood tests may show changes in white blood cell count or elevated liver enzymes, and hypersensitivity reactions, such as skin rash or swelling, may occur. Due to the possibility of drowsiness while taking this medication, caution should be exercised when driving or operating dangerous machinery. For patients who have been on long-term steroid treatment, it is essential to taper off steroids gradually while taking this medication. Patients with decreased renal function may have an increased blood concentration of this medication, hence it is advisable to start at a low dose and monitor their condition closely. The use of this medication in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis has not been adequately studied, hence caution is warranted, and it is advisable to start taking it before the allergy season and continue until it ends. If the desired effect is not achieved, it is preferable not to continue taking the medication for a prolonged period. As with other antihistamines, taking this medication with alcohol may worsen side effects, so caution is advised. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant are advised not to use this medication; if necessary, it should be used under the careful judgment of a physician. Breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication while nursing. Safety in children has not been established; therefore, it should be used with caution in pediatric patients. Elderly patients should take this medication with caution due to possible prolonged drug retention in the body due to reduced renal function. This medication may affect the results of allergy tests, so it is recommended to discontinue it prior to testing. This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool place below 30 degrees Celsius, away from moisture, and out of reach of children.
