Relief of perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, and itching associated with skin conditions
This medication is used for perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, and itching associated with skin disorders (eczema, dermatitis, pruritus, urticaria, etc.). It helps alleviate symptoms and improve the patient's quality of life.
The usual dose for adults is 10mg of bepotastine besilate orally twice daily. The dose may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used by patients with allergic reactions to any of its components. It should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney or liver function, and in elderly patients. During treatment, neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, as well as gastrointestinal symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea may occur. Additionally, changes in blood counts or liver function tests may occur, so it is advisable to monitor these regularly. This medication may cause drowsiness, so it is safe to avoid driving a vehicle or operating hazardous machinery while taking it. If you are on long-term steroid therapy, caution is needed when adjusting the steroid dose when starting this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function may have increased blood concentration of this medication, so starting at a lower dose and monitoring is necessary. The use of this medication in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis has not been sufficiently studied, so caution is advised, and it is recommended to begin taking it before the season when symptoms worsen. If no effect is observed, it is desirable to discontinue use after a long period. Avoid taking this medication with alcohol as side effects may be exacerbated. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid using this medication, and if necessary, should consult a doctor. Breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid taking this medication while breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so use is not recommended. Elderly patients should exercise caution as impaired kidney function may prolong the medication's presence in the body. This medication may affect allergy test results, so if you plan to undergo allergy testing, consult your doctor before taking it. When taking the medication, ensure to take it out of the packaging and avoid swallowing the packaging material.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
