During treatment, side effects affecting the nervous system, such as drowsiness, headaches, and dizziness, may occur, so driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur. Changes in blood tests, such as variations in white blood cell counts or elevated liver enzymes, may necessitate regular testing. Hypersensitivity reactions, like rashes or swelling on the skin, may occur. Alcohol consumption may exacerbate side effects; therefore, it should be avoided. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are nursing should consult a doctor before using this medication. Safety in pediatric patients has not yet been established, so it should be administered cautiously to children. This medication is primarily excreted through the kidneys, so elderly patients with impaired kidney function may have an increased risk of higher blood concentration and require dosage adjustments. Taking this medication while undergoing allergy testing (skin prick tests) may affect test results, so it is advisable not to take it prior to testing.
