How to take

Adult dose

In adults, initiate treatment with naftopidil 25mg once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms, but the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had hypersensitivity reactions to any of its ingredients. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. Patients with poor liver function should be careful as the blood concentration of this medication may rise upon administration. Patients with serious heart disease or cerebrovascular disorders have limited experience with this medication, requiring careful judgment. Elderly patients should be observed carefully as liver function may be decreased and drug excretion may slow down. When taken with other medications that have blood pressure-lowering effects, there is a risk of blood pressure dropping too low, so all concurrent medications should be disclosed. Patients with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension may experience increased dizziness or vertigo, requiring caution during use. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, hypotension, or discomfort in the upper abdomen may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Severe side effects such as liver dysfunction, jaundice, syncope, or loss of consciousness may occur, and symptoms should be immediately addressed by stopping the medication and obtaining appropriate treatment. In case of overdose, blood pressure may drop excessively, so the dosage must be adhered to strictly. Dizziness or vertigo due to orthostatic hypotension may occur, so patients should move slowly when standing up, and be cautious when performing dangerous tasks or driving. Before taking this medication, it is essential to check if blood pressure-lowering drugs are currently being used and to pay attention to blood pressure changes. This medication is a symptomatic treatment; if no effect is observed, alternative treatments should be considered. When taken with diuretics or other blood pressure-lowering drugs, the hypotensive effect may be potentiated, thus dosage adjustment and caution are necessary. Especially when used in combination with PDE5 inhibitors, there may be a significant drop in blood pressure, so consultation with a healthcare professional is required. Keep out of reach of children, and take care to remove the medication from the packaging before consumption. Swallowing it without unwrapping can damage the esophagus and lead to serious complications; therefore, it must be taken out of the packaging before use.
