Treatment of erectile dysfunction
This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction and requires sexual stimulation to be effective. Furthermore, this medication is not indicated for use in women, who should not take it. It helps improve erectile dysfunction and supports a healthy sex life.
For oral use. Use in adult men The recommended dose of this medicine is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. For patients in whom tadalafil 10mg does not provide sufficient effect, 20 mg may be tried. This medicine may be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. The maximum recommended frequency of administration is once daily. Long-term safety after extended daily dosing has not been established, and because the effect of this medicine usually lasts for more than one day, continuous daily administration of this medicine is strongly not recommended. [See section 1. Warnings and section 11.1) Pharmacodynamic Properties] Use in elderly men Dose adjustments are not required in elderly patients. Use in men with renal impairment Dose adjustment is not required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. The maximum recommended dose in patients with severe renal impairment is 10mg. [See 11.2) Pharmacokinetic Properties]. Use in men with hepatic impairment The recommended dose of this product is 10mg, taken with or without food before anticipated sexual activity. Since clinical data on the safety of this product in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C) are limited, the physician should carefully assess the individual benefit/risk when prescribing it. There are no data on administering doses higher than 10mg to patients with hepatic impairment. [See section 3. Patients Requiring Caution and section 11.2) Pharmacokinetic Properties]. Use in men with diabetes Dose adjustment is not required in patients with diabetes.
People under 18 years of age: This product should not be used.
Before treating erectile dysfunction with this medication, the underlying cause must be determined through the patient's medical history and physical examination. Since sexual activity can place a strain on the heart, it is essential for the physician to evaluate the patient's cardiovascular condition. If cardiovascular symptoms occur during sexual activity, one should immediately stop the activity and inform a doctor. This medication can rarely cause erections lasting longer than 4 hours, in which case immediate medical assistance should be sought; failure to treat may result in penile tissue damage and loss of erectile function. It should be avoided in combination with nitrate medications or NO donors as it may lead to dangerously low blood pressure. Patients with cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, or stroke, or those who have recently experienced such conditions, should not use this medication. Additionally, those with genetic retinal diseases or hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medication should not take it. Concurrent use with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to unproven safety and efficacy. This medication contains lactose, so lactose-intolerant individuals should avoid it. Careful use is required for patients with penile deformities or certain blood diseases, and those with severely impaired kidney or liver functions should be cautious. Co-administration with alpha-blockers may result in symptoms of low blood pressure, so consultation with a doctor is advised. Common side effects include headache, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, nasal congestion, and flushing, mostly mild to moderate. Rarely, cardiovascular adverse reactions or vision and hearing loss have been reported, so one should consult a healthcare provider if these symptoms occur. This medication is not for use by women, children, or newborns, and its safety during pregnancy has not been established. Taking with alcohol may lead to lowered blood pressure and dizziness, so caution is advised. In overdose situations, standard supportive treatment should be administered, and dialysis does not affect the elimination of this medication. Store in a sealed container, away from air and moisture, and at a temperature between 1°C and 30°C. Proper storage helps maintain the effectiveness of the medication and prevents degradation.
