This medication is used to improve blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve sufficient control with monotherapy of either amlodipine or telmisartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). In cases of severe renal impairment, treatment should start with a lower dosage and be gradually increased. Liver impaired patients should not exceed a daily dose of 40 milligrams of telmisartan. In elderly patients (75 years and older), treatment should start with a lower dose and manage dosage carefully.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This drug should not be administered to patients with certain conditions, such as liver impairment, heart issues, hypotension, or poor kidney function. Patients with primary aldosteronism, aortic stenosis, liver impairment, gastrointestinal disorders, or renal artery hypertension should use this drug with special caution, and elderly patients should have their dosage adjusted or use it with care.
