Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily within 3 to 7 days, and can be titrated further up to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily after 1 week.
Child dose
There is insufficient safety and efficacy data for children under 12 years and adolescents aged 12 to 17, therefore, use is not recommended.

This medication is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults and serves as an adjunct in patients with epilepsy experiencing partial seizures. It also helps alleviate the symptoms of fibromyalgia and is effective in improving symptoms of various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is orally administered in divided doses twice daily without regard to food. 1. Neuropathic pain - Peripheral neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily within 3 to 7 days, and can be titrated further up to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days. - Central neuropathic pain: Starting dose of 150 mg daily, may increase to 300 mg daily after 1 week.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so mood changes or symptoms of depression should be carefully monitored during treatment. People with allergies to the ingredients in this medication should not take it, and patients with genetic issues related to lactose should also avoid it. Diabetic patients should be cautious as weight gain may necessitate dose adjustments of blood sugar control medications. If serious allergic reactions such as angioedema occur, discontinue use immediately. Elderly patients should be cautious when taking this medication as dizziness, drowsiness, or confusion may occur, which may increase the risk of falls. Transient visual disturbances or changes in vision may occur, and if symptoms persist, consulting a physician is advised. When discontinuing this medication, withdrawal symptoms such as insomnia, headache, and anxiety may occur, so dosage should be gradually reduced under medical supervision. There is a risk of drug abuse, so patients with a history of substance abuse or mental disorders must consult their healthcare provider before use. Patients with impaired kidney function may require dose adjustments; kidney status should be monitored. Patients with heart diseases may experience symptoms of congestive heart failure while taking this medication, so caution is necessary. When this medication is taken with opioid analgesics, CNS depressant effects may increase, posing a risk of respiratory depression. Activities requiring alertness, such as driving or operating machinery, should be avoided until dizziness or drowsiness subsides.
