Precautions

This medication contains vitamin D, so care should be taken not to overdose. When used with vitamin D fortified foods or other vitamin D preparations, the total intake must be checked. The use of this medication should be discontinued if the calcium level in the blood exceeds normal ranges or if the amount of calcium excreted in urine increases. If calcium intake is high, blood and urine calcium levels should be regularly monitored and managed. Patients with allergies to the components of this medication, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, or calcium stones should not use this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function or a history of kidney stones, as well as patients who are largely immobile, should also not use this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and safety in children is also not well established. While taking this medication, various side effects such as headache, fatigue, myalgia, indigestion, thirst, increased urine output, and elevated blood pressure may occur, so if unusual symptoms occur, immediate consultation with medical personnel is essential. It is also important to periodically check blood vitamin D levels and parathyroid hormone levels while taking this medication. Patients with weakened kidney function or those taking certain diuretics or heart medications should frequently undergo kidney function tests and adjust doses as necessary. Since this medication may interact with other drugs, especially anticonvulsants, steroids, specific diuretics, and anticoagulants, inform medical personnel if you are taking these. In case of overdose, immediately stop using this medication, reduce calcium intake, and ensure sufficient hydration while promoting diuresis. This medication should not be mixed with other drugs, should be used quickly after opening, and any remaining medication should be discarded.
