Precautions

This drug is a penicillin-class antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. First, patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or beta-lactam antibiotics should avoid using it. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia are at higher risk of rash and should not use this drug. It is also safe for patients who previously experienced liver dysfunction or jaundice from this drug or penicillin-class drugs to avoid re-administration. Patients with impaired liver function or moderate to severe renal impairment should use this drug with caution, as drug concentrations may increase. Patients with allergic tendencies or those prone to bronchial asthma, skin rashes, etc., should be administered this drug carefully, as should elderly patients or those in poor general condition. In cases of gastrointestinal diseases with vomiting or diarrhea, careful administration is advised as drug absorption may be insufficient. During the use of this drug, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, skin rashes, and breathing difficulties can occur. If these symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Severe allergic reactions or anaphylactic shock rarely occur; thus, careful observation of the patient’s condition after administration is important. Furthermore, long-term use may lead to the development of resistant bacteria, making it essential to regularly check liver or kidney function and blood tests. Pregnant women in the early stages or nursing mothers should discuss the use of this drug with a physician. If symptoms such as diarrhea or skin rashes develop in infants during breastfeeding, drug use should be discontinued. This drug is recommended for children aged 12 years and older or those weighing over 40 kg. Elderly patients, due to diminished physical function, may experience adverse reactions more easily, necessitating careful adjustments to the dosage and administration intervals. Lastly, this drug may interact with other medications, so if the patient is taking other medicines, the physician or pharmacist must be informed.
