This medication helps reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and increases levels of good cholesterol (HDL). It is primarily used in conjunction with dietary restrictions, especially on saturated fat and cholesterol intake. This medication is effective for patients at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease, and it is important to identify and manage other causes such as diabetes and hypothyroidism before treatment. During treatment, blood lipid levels should be monitored regularly to ensure appropriate management and adjustment. This medication is used as an adjunct in the treatment of dyslipidemia to improve blood lipid concentrations and prevent cardiovascular diseases.
