This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with telmisartan or amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with renal impairment, no dosage adjustment is necessary for mild to moderate renal impairment; however, for severe renal impairment, treatment should be initiated at a lower dose and increased gradually. In patients with hepatic impairment, the daily dosage of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should not take it. Patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this medication, hepatic impairment, obstructive biliary disease, severe hypotension, or severe cardiac diseases should avoid taking it. Patients with renal impairment or diabetes, as well as breastfeeding women, should avoid using this medication. Patients with specific heart valve diseases or liver dysfunction should use this medication cautiously, and caution is also needed in patients with gastrointestinal disorders or renal vascular hypertension. In pregnancy, particularly, discontinuation of this medication is recommended, and substitution with another safe antihypertensive medication is advised. Hypotension or hyperkalemia may occur, so patients at risk of these symptoms should have regular blood pressure and blood tests. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, it is essential to inform healthcare professionals of any other medications being taken. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In cases of overdose, serious hypotension or cardiac dysfunction may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. It is important to keep this medication out of the reach of children and to maintain the product in its original packaging.
