Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. If pregnancy is confirmed, this medication should be discontinued as soon as possible. This medication should not be administered to patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or related components, pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, nursing mothers, patients with obstructive biliary disease, severe liver impairment, patients with a narrowed left ventricular outflow tract in the heart, severe hypotension, patients in shock, unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction, patients allergic to excipients, and patients with diabetes or moderate to severe renal impairment. Patients with specific diseases, such as primary aldosteronism, aortic stenosis, mitral stenosis, liver disease, gastrointestinal disorders, renovascular hypertension, patients undergoing dialysis, and the elderly, require special caution when using this medication. The most common side effects experienced during treatment are dizziness and peripheral edema. Serious side effects such as fainting may occur infrequently, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, medical consultation should be sought immediately. This medication should not be initiated during pregnancy, and if planning for pregnancy, it is advisable to switch to other antihypertensives that have confirmed safety. Because this medication lowers blood pressure, hypotensive symptoms may occur, especially in patients who are fluid-depleted, and they should consult their doctor before taking the medication. There is a risk of elevated potassium levels in the blood, so caution is needed when taking potassium supplements or medications containing potassium. Patients with impaired renal function should have regular blood tests to monitor renal function and electrolyte status. Patients with heart disease should be cautious as myocardial infarction or angina symptoms may worsen after taking this medication. This medication can cause drowsiness or dizziness; therefore, caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery. There may be drug interactions when combined with other medications, so if you are taking any other drugs, you must inform your healthcare provider. Exceeding the prescribed dose can lead to serious side effects such as hypotension, arrhythmias, and acute renal failure; therefore, it is essential to visit a healthcare facility immediately. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may respond more sensitively to this medication, so they should start at a lower dose, gradually increasing it.
