Efficacy & effects

This medication is used to relieve inflammation caused by chronic desquamative gingivitis, refractory stomatitis, and glossitis. It is particularly effective for symptoms of severe inflammation or gum desquamation due to gingivitis, and helps improve symptoms of erosion or ulcers caused by stomatitis and glossitis. It plays a role in quickly reducing inflammation for patients, promoting pain relief and healing.

Dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area (site of disease) 1 to several times a day. Adjust the amount according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with tuberculosis, viral, or other suppurative infections in the oral cavity. Additionally, individuals with a history of allergic reactions to this medication should also avoid using it. Patients with syphilis, chickenpox, fungal infections, bacterial skin infections, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, and gum inflammation due to vitamin C deficiency should avoid administration as well. This product contains propylene glycol, so caution is advised in individuals with allergies or previous hypersensitivity reactions to this substance. During use, there may be a worsening of oral infections; therefore, appropriate antifungal or antibacterial treatments should be used in conjunction if there are fungal or bacterial infections, and if symptoms do not improve, discontinue the medication. Moreover, discomfort such as numbness in the mouth or taste disturbances can occur. Rarely, allergic skin reactions may occur, and in such cases, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Prolonged use may affect the body's hormone regulation, so caution is necessary; it may lead to conditions like atopic dermatitis, vasodilation, stretch marks, steroid-induced acne, perioral dermatitis, and excessive hair growth. This medication is generally not used in the presence of oral infections, but if necessary, appropriate antibacterial or antifungal treatment should be performed beforehand or used concurrently. It is advisable not to eat immediately after applying the medication, and there may be a feeling of unease in the applied area. This medication is not intended for ocular use and should not be applied ophthalmically. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication with caution, as overdose or long-term use may harm the fetus and should be avoided. Children and adolescents should refrain from overdose or prolonged use as it may affect growth. Elderly individuals should be cautious during prolonged use, as the risk of infection may increase, and side effects such as diabetes, bone weakening, hypertension, cataracts, and glaucoma may occur.
