Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this drug or its components. Additionally, as it contains lactose, individuals with genetic metabolic disorders such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. Patients with liver disease or a history of liver disease should be cautious, as liver function may deteriorate with this medication. If allergic symptoms such as rash, urticaria, swelling of the face or limbs, or itching occur while taking this medication, cease use immediately and consult a physician. Occasionally, symptoms affecting the central nervous system such as drowsiness, headache, dizziness, insomnia, and nightmares may occur; therefore, caution should be taken if these symptoms arise. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, and dry mouth may rarely occur, so any abnormal symptoms should be reported. Liver dysfunction or symptoms of jaundice may appear, so it is important to have regular liver function tests and inform medical staff of any abnormalities. As it may affect kidney function, symptoms like proteinuria should be carefully monitored. Urological symptoms such as frequent urination, hematuria, and urinary retention may occur rarely; consult a doctor immediately if these symptoms arise. Cardiac-related symptoms such as palpitations may occur, so attention to heart health is necessary. Respiratory symptoms such as dyspnea or nasal congestion may rarely occur, requiring caution if symptoms develop. Blood-related issues can lead to thrombocytopenia or leukocytosis; therefore, regular blood tests are necessary. Rarely reported symptoms include gynecomastia, menstrual irregularities, and chest pain, so consult a doctor if these changes occur. This medication is not for rapid relief of asthma attacks; asthma patients should understand this well before use. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment must gradually reduce steroid dosages when taking this medication, under the supervision of healthcare providers. This medication may cause drowsiness, so caution is required when driving or operating machinery. If this medication is judged ineffective, it is best not to continue taking it for an extended period. For seasonal allergies, it is recommended to start taking it before symptoms begin and to continue taking it consistently throughout the duration of symptoms. Although this medication is known not to enhance the sedative effects when taken with other sleep aids, antihistamines, or alcohol, caution is advisable due to limited combination experiences. The safety of this medication has not been established during pregnancy; thus, pregnant or potentially pregnant women should consult a doctor before careful use. Lactating women should avoid taking this medication if possible, as it may pass into breast milk; if it is necessary, it is advisable to stop nursing. The safety in children, especially low birth weight infants, neonates, and infants, has not been sufficiently confirmed; therefore, caution is needed. Elderly individuals may have reduced liver and kidney function, so they should regularly observe for unusual reactions and adjust dosage or take breaks as necessary. In the event of an overdose, cardiac irregularities can occur; immediate emergency treatment and ECG testing should be sought. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may adversely affect its quality and should be avoided.
