Initial treatment of skin infections caused by neomycin-sensitive bacteria
This medication is used for the initial treatment of skin conditions that are secondarily infected by bacteria sensitive to neomycin. It is effective for the treatment of minor skin injuries such as small lacerations, abrasions, and sutured wounds, as well as superficial second-degree burns. It helps to prevent and treat infections in these wound areas, thus benefiting quick recovery and infection relief of the skin.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area 1 to 2 times a day. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
This medicine should not be used by anyone who has an allergic reaction to this medication or its components, or who has experienced such reactions in the past. In addition, individuals allergic to aminoglycoside antibiotics such as streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, or neomycin, as well as bacitracin, should not use this medication. Patients with wounds in the eyes or around the eyes, and those with wounds in the breast area are advised against using this medication, especially if they are nursing, due to the risk of the drug passing to the infant. This medicine contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, so those with allergies or hypersensitivity to this ingredient should use it with caution. Long-term use of this medication may lead to side effects such as renal dysfunction or hearing loss, so it is crucial to avoid prolonged continuous use whenever possible. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a doctor before using this medication, as its safety has not been fully established, and it should only be used when absolutely necessary. If symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling, or blisters occur during use, stop using the product immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, prolonged use poses the risk of developing resistant bacteria, so adherence to the prescribed dosage and administration is essential. When used in children, it should be under the careful supervision of a guardian, and use should be discontinued as soon as symptoms improve. This medication should not be applied directly to the eyes; if it gets into the eye, rinse immediately with clean water and seek care from an ophthalmologist if symptoms are severe. Finally, avoid using the medication for purposes other than treatment, such as after cosmetics or shaving, and store it in a safe place out of reach of children. Lastly, this medication should be stored in its original container with the lid tightly closed; transferring it to another container may compromise its quality or lead to misuse, so caution is required.
