Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
Used to relieve acute or chronic pain that ranges from moderate to severe.
Adjust the dosage based on the patient's level of pain and treatment response. An initial dose of 2 tablets is administered, and subsequent dosing intervals should be at least 12 hours apart. Do not exceed 8 tablets in one day. For prolonged use, regular monitoring should be conducted. In the elderly, the usual adult dosage is administered, but for those aged 75 and above, dosing intervals should be at least 12 hours apart.
This medication can put a strain on the liver, so those who regularly consume more than three drinks a day should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. This medication can rarely cause severe skin reactions, so if a skin rash or hypersensitivity reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. The components in this medication may increase the risk of seizures, so patients with a history of seizures or those at high risk should take this medication with caution. During the use of this medication, there is a rare risk of fatal allergic reactions, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare professional immediately. Patients with acute or severe bronchial asthma may experience severe respiratory depression while taking this medication, so it should be administered in a setting equipped with professional equipment. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe sedation or respiratory depression, so caution is advised when using them in combination. Patients with head injuries or elevated intracranial pressure should be cautious while taking this medication, as respiratory depression may worsen symptoms. This medication has the potential to cause mental and physical dependence, so careful observation for dependence is necessary during long-term use. Patients with poor liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and care should be taken not to exceed a daily dosage of 4,000 milligrams. Patients with certain genotypes may have higher levels of active metabolites, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, so dosage adjustments and monitoring are required. This medication is not administered to children under 12 years of age or to certain pediatric patients post-surgery, and adolescents aged 12 to 18 years should avoid use if there are risk factors. While taking this medication, hyponatremia may occur, so it is advisable for elderly patients or those with risk factors to periodically check their sodium levels.
