Precautions

This medication, as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, can cause serious side effects such as tendonitis, tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, central nervous system disturbances, and exacerbation of myasthenia gravis. If such adverse reactions occur, use must be promptly discontinued. It is safest not to use in patients with a history of myasthenia gravis. There is a particular risk of tendon rupture in areas such as the shoulder, hand, and Achilles tendon, so if pain or inflammation symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and rest should be taken. Additionally, this medication should not be administered to growing adolescents under 18 years of age, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and patients with certain genetic disorders or a history of allergies. Elderly patients, those with impaired kidney or liver function, and patients with a history of mental illness should use this medication cautiously, as regular monitoring may be necessary. This medication can increase the risk of seizures, so patients with epilepsy or central nervous system disorders should exercise caution and consult a healthcare provider immediately if symptoms develop. During treatment, it is important to avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light and to ensure adequate hydration to reduce strain on the kidneys. Additionally, this medication may interact with various other drugs, so if other medications are being taken, it is crucial to inform the healthcare provider. It is advisable not to use this medication during pregnancy or while nursing, and if necessary, consultation with an expert should be sought. Finally, when storing this medication, it should be kept out of reach of children, and it is safest not to transfer it to other containers.
