Relief of allergic symptoms such as allergic rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and chronic urticaria
This medicine is mainly used for seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and pruritus. It can also be used in combination with hydrocortisone topical agents when treating eczema and dermatitis. It effectively improves allergic symptoms and skin-related conditions.
Adults and children aged 6 and older are administered cetirizine hydrochloride orally at a dose of 10mg once daily before bedtime. For patients prone to adverse reactions, the dosage can be split into 5mg each in the morning and evening. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms. For patients with renal impairment, the dosing interval should be adjusted according to renal function.
For children aged 6 and older, cetirizine hydrochloride is administered orally at a dose of 10mg once daily before bedtime. Children with renal impairment should have their dosage adjusted individually based on the child's renal clearance and weight.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who have had an allergic reaction to hydroxyzine or piperazine derivatives. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or children under 6 years old should not use this medication. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. It is important not to take this medication with certain drugs, such as theophylline or ritonavir, as this can alter the drug concentration. Excessive alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking this medication. Patients with impaired kidney or liver function, elderly individuals, those with epilepsy, patients with urinary retention, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication. While animal studies have not shown major issues during pregnancy, the safety in humans has not been fully established, so caution is advised. This medication is excreted in breast milk, thus caution is also warranted during breastfeeding. Symptoms such as confusion, drowsiness, headache, and abnormal heart rhythms may appear in case of overdose, and immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary in such cases. While taking this medication, various side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, dyspepsia, skin rash, and liver dysfunction may occur, so patients should notify their healthcare provider if such symptoms arise. It is advisable to stop taking this medication before allergy testing and to be cautious when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication with food may slightly slow absorption, but it does not significantly affect efficacy. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and should not be transferred from its original container to other containers, as this may reduce its quality.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, painful mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory issues associated with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme drowsiness, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion of consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination issues

Do not take this medication with theophylline or ritonavir.
Do not take this medication with excessive alcohol.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is important to maintain a storage temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
