This medication alleviates the symptoms of seasonal or persistent perennial allergic rhinitis. It also helps reduce itching and rashes associated with chronic idiopathic urticaria. Additionally, it is effective for dermatitis and eczema with itching in adults and children aged 6 years and older. This provides assistance in improving a variety of allergic and skin disorder symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children over 6 years: Take 5mg levocetirizine hydrochloride (10mL of the solution) orally, once daily, regardless of meals. Adult patients with renal impairment should adjust the dose according to their kidney function. eGFR ≥ 90: 5mg once daily, 60 -< 90: 5mg once daily, 30 -< 60: 5mg twice daily, 15 -< 30: 5mg three times daily, < 15 (dialysis required).

Child dose

For children over 2 and under 6 years: Take 1.25mg (2.5mL of the solution) orally, twice daily. For children over 1 and under 2 years: Take 1.25mg (2.5mL of the solution) orally, once daily.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used by patients with allergies to certain ingredients or a history of hypersensitivity. Patients with end-stage renal disease or undergoing hemodialysis should also not take this medicine. This medication should not be administered to infants under 1 year of age, and for children under 6 years, it should be given in liquid form instead of tablets. The solution contains an ingredient called maltitol, so it should not be used by patients with congenital fructose intolerance.
