This medication is used in the treatment of chronic hyperuricemia in patients with gout. Hyperuricemia can lead to gout attacks and arthritis due to elevated uric acid levels in the blood, making effective treatment important. Thus, this medication is effective in improving chronic hyperuricemia and alleviating gout symptoms.
