This medication is used for children, especially those under 2 years old or attending daycare, when acute otitis media and acute sinusitis recur or persist. It is also suitable for children who have received antibiotics for acute otitis media or acute sinusitis within the last 3 months. This drug is effective against major pathogens such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis, assisting in the treatment of these infections. Thus, it is used to improve recurrent or persistent acute otitis media and sinusitis.

How to take

Child dose

For pediatric patients over 3 months old, dosage based on the amoxicillin content (600 mg/5 mL) is 90 mg/kg/day taken in divided doses every 12 hours. For acute otitis media, it is administered for 10 days, and for acute sinusitis, 7 days.

Precautions

This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, therefore, it should not be used in patients with phenylketonuria. The daily intake of aspartame must be regulated below the WHO recommended limit, with a maximum dosage established for adults. Patients with allergies or hypersensitivity reactions to any ingredients in this medication or beta-lactam antibiotics should not take this medication.
