This medication may cause liver damage, so those who regularly consume more than three drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication can rarely cause serious skin reactions; if skin rash or hypersensitivity occurs, discontinue use immediately. The ingredients in this medication may increase the risk of seizures, so patients with a history of seizures or seizure risk factors should use it with caution. Severe respiratory depression that can be life-threatening may occur in patients with significant respiratory diseases; administration should occur in a medically equipped setting. Taking this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe sedation or respiratory depression, so this should be avoided or done with caution. Patients with increased intracranial pressure or head injury may experience exacerbation of symptoms due to the respiratory depression effect of this medication; therefore, it should be administered cautiously. This medication may cause psychological and physical dependence, so long-term use should be closely monitored for the development of dependence. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a doctor before taking this medication and should ensure that the daily dosage does not exceed 4,000mg. Patients with certain genotypes may metabolize this medication rapidly, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, so dose adjustments and symptom monitoring are necessary. This medication should not be used in children under 12 years old or adolescents under 18 years old who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. This medication can cause sleep apnea or hypoxemia, so symptoms need to be continuously evaluated and dosages adjusted as necessary. Elderly patients or those at risk for hyponatremia should be closely monitored for the occurrence of hyponatremia. Patients who have hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this medication, those taking certain medications, patients with severe respiratory depression, and those with head injuries should not be administered this medication. Patients taking narcotic analgesics or central nervous system depressants, those with liver or kidney disorders, and those who consume alcohol should use this medication with caution and follow medical advice. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while taking this medication, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery. In cases of overdose, serious respiratory depression, seizures, or liver failure may occur, so dosing must be strictly adhered to.
