This medication is used to relieve nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and feelings of heaviness in the head caused by the common cold (acute rhinitis), allergic rhinitis (nasitis), and sinusitis.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

For adolescents aged 12 years and older or adults, spray once in each nostril within the range of 3 times a day. The application interval should be more than 8 hours.

Precautions

This medicine should not be used by children under 12 years of age. People who are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients or have experienced hypersensitivity reactions should not use it. Those taking MAO inhibitors such as antidepressants or antipsychotics or have discontinued their use within the last 2 weeks should not use this medicine. This medicine should also not be used by individuals who have undergone brain surgery or have exposed cerebral membranes. People with glaucoma, especially angle-closure glaucoma, should avoid this medicine. It is advisable not to use this medicine if there is dry nose or atrophic rhinitis. Patients with chromaffin tumors or benign prostatic hyperplasia should also refrain from using this medicine. Individuals with a predisposition to allergic reactions or past allergy symptoms due to medications must consult a healthcare professional before using this medicine. Patients with hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease, or glaucoma should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. It is also important for those taking tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants to seek advice. Those sensitive to adrenergic agents should use it cautiously as they may experience insomnia, dizziness, tremors, arrhythmia, or increased blood pressure. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before using this medicine. Breastfeeding women should follow the advice of a healthcare professional as it is uncertain whether this medicine is excreted in breast milk. Patients under treatment or with specific cough symptoms should also seek consultation before use. If skin rash, swelling, itching, or irritation occurs while using this medicine, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. If symptoms do not improve after using for more than 3 days, consult a doctor or pharmacist. If sudden headaches, nausea, vomiting, or visual disturbances occur, stop using immediately and go to the hospital. This medicine must be used exactly according to the prescribed method and dosage, as excessive use may worsen nasal congestion. It should only be used as a nasal spray for rhinitis and not applied to the eyes or ears. To prevent contamination from co-use, avoid mixing whenever possible. It is recommended not to use this medicine continuously for more than 7 days. It is advisable to avoid alcohol while using this medicine. When used for children, parental supervision is necessary. This medicine contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause bronchospasm, and prolonged use may lead to irritation or swelling of the nasal mucosa.
