Improvement of hypertension and hypercholesterolemia and reduction of cardiovascular disease risk
This medicine is used for patients who need to take both components, Olmesartan Medoxomil and Rosuvastatin. Olmesartan Medoxomil is effective primarily for the treatment of essential hypertension. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia that cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone. It also aids in lipid control for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia and dysbetalipoproteinemia. It contributes to the reduction of risks associated with stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization in older patients at high risk for cardiovascular diseases. This medication improves cardiovascular health by managing both hypertension and hyperlipidemia simultaneously.
Olmesartan Medoxomil: Adults should take 10 mg once daily, regardless of meals. If blood pressure control is insufficient, it may be increased to 20 mg once daily, with a maximum dosage of 40 mg. Rosuvastatin: The initial dose is 5 mg once daily, and the maintenance dose may be adjusted to 10 mg once daily as needed. The maximum dose is 20 mg once daily. When taking, it is recommended to take it at the same time every day (for example, in the morning).
Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

This medication may affect kidney function; therefore, patients with renal impairment or those who have had a kidney transplant should have their kidney function and electrolyte status regularly checked by blood tests. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, especially in heart failure or renal impairment patients, blood potassium levels should be closely monitored. Particular care is required when using this medication on patients with aortic stenosis or obstructive heart disease. This medication may cause dizziness due to its blood pressure-lowering effects; therefore, caution is needed when operating machinery or performing high-risk tasks, such as driving. Patients with a history of liver disease or excessive alcohol intake should undergo regular liver function tests; if liver function abnormalities arise, treatment should be discontinued immediately. Muscle pain, myopathy, and rarely rhabdomyolysis may occur; therefore, patients should immediately report any occurrence of muscle pain, weakness, or cramps to their healthcare provider for necessary testing. This medication may interact with other drugs, so especially when taking potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and fibrates, it is essential to consult a specialist. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant must strictly use proper contraceptive methods, and if pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Nursing mothers should either stop breastfeeding or discontinue this medication while taking it, and safety for pediatric patients and adolescents under 18 years of age has not been established. Elderly patients may have increased blood concentrations of this drug, thus requiring dosage adjustment and monitoring. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, palpitations, and bradycardia may occur; appropriate treatment should be provided based on the symptoms.
