Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies to specific components or those with a history of hypersensitivity to benzimidazole derivatives. Caution is especially necessary in cases of allergy to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, particularly during combination therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Additionally, patients taking certain heart medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Patients with impaired liver function, the elderly, and those with a history of drug allergies should use this medication carefully. This medication contains the dye Yellow No. 4, which can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. If symptoms of an allergic reaction such as skin rash or itching occur, discontinue use immediately, and it is advisable to undergo regular blood tests and liver function tests. Various side effects can manifest in different organs, including the heart, digestive system, nervous system, respiratory system, and skin, so consult a healthcare professional if any abnormal symptoms occur. This medication may increase the risk of bone fractures with long-term use; therefore, caution should be exercised for prolonged use. Furthermore, hypomagnesemia may occur, and magnesium levels should be regularly checked and supplementation may be necessary. Since this medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, there may be a slight increase in the risk of certain bacterial infections; consult a physician if diarrhea symptoms persist. Caution is needed as drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery. There may be interactions when used with certain anticancer or antiviral medications; therefore, it is crucial to inform healthcare providers about all medications being taken. It is safest not to use this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding. In the elderly, the risk of side effects may be heightened due to decreased liver function, so caution is advised upon occurrence of symptoms. Safety in pediatric patients has not been established; therefore, use is not recommended. There is no specific antidote for overdose; appropriate treatment should be administered based on symptoms. This medication should be swallowed whole and not chewed or crushed, and kept out of reach of children. If symptoms of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus appear during medication use, consult a physician immediately. This medication may affect the results of certain diagnostic tests due to gastric acid suppression, so it is important to notify healthcare professionals before undergoing tests. Serious side effects such as acute kidney inflammation can occur; if fatigue, loss of appetite, or rashes occur, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Regular check-ups and strict adherence to medical instructions are essential when this medication is administered long-term.
