View approved original text

This medicine helps lower elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo B, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol levels, and helps raise HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, particularly heterozygous familial and non-familial hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia. It is used in conjunction with an appropriate diet, as an adjunct when dietary control alone is insufficient. Furthermore, it is prescribed for patients at high risk of atherogenic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia after adequately considering risk factors. Before use, it is important to check for dyslipidemia caused by other diseases or medications, and if a secondary cause is present, it should be treated first. During treatment, lipid levels such as total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides should be monitored, and if necessary, precise tests using ultracentrifugation should be performed. This drug helps improve vessel health through management of dyslipidemia.
