Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with known allergies or prior hypersensitivity reactions to specific ingredients. It is also contraindicated in patients currently taking certain antibiotics or other medications, as well as in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Caution is necessary for patients with impaired liver function or the elderly. During treatment with this medication, various side effects such as rashes, itching, blood abnormalities, liver function issues, heart problems, gastrointestinal symptoms, neurological issues, respiratory problems, muscle pain, and skin rashes may occur, and immediate consultation with a doctor is required upon manifestation of such symptoms. For long-term use, regular blood tests and liver function tests are important, and drug administration should be halted if serious side effects are suspected. This medication strongly suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of bacterial infections in the stomach; specific attention must be paid to the possibility of hypomagnesemia with long-term use. Additionally, there may be interactions with other medications, so it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications being taken. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not use this medication, and the elderly should be careful regarding the potential for side effects due to reduced liver function. Safety in children has not been established, so use is not recommended. In cases of overdose, specific antidotes do not exist, and treatment and supportive therapy will be required based on symptoms. This medication should be swallowed whole as a tablet and should not be chewed or crushed, and it should be stored out of reach of children. Prolonged administration may lead to impaired absorption of vitamin B12 due to reduced acidity in the stomach, so caution is necessary.
