Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, and it is essential to confirm the underlying cause through a doctor's diagnosis and physical examination before use. Sexual intercourse may put strain on the heart; therefore, patients with cardiovascular diseases should consult a physician before taking this medication. This drug can rarely cause an erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism), and in such cases, immediate medical assistance should be sought. Without treatment, this can lead to tissue damage to the penis and permanent erectile dysfunction. This medication can dangerously lower blood pressure if taken with nitrates or nitric oxide donors; therefore, patients taking these medications should not use this drug. Patients with cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, unstable angina, heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension or hypotension, or recent stroke should not take this medication. Patients with genetic retinal diseases or those allergic to any component of this medication should also avoid taking it. Combination with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to lack of confirmed safety and efficacy. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function should use this medication cautiously, and caution is needed when used in conjunction with alpha-blockers or certain antifungals due to increased risk of side effects. This medication may cause side effects such as headaches, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and nasal congestion. Rarely, severe cardiovascular events or vision and hearing disabilities have been reported. If sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs during use, the medication should be stopped immediately, and a physician should be consulted. This medication is not for use in women, children, or pregnant individuals, as its safety during pregnancy has not been confirmed. It has minimal effects on driving or operating machinery, but caution should be exercised as dizziness may occur. In case of overdose, standard treatment should be administered, and blood dialysis is ineffective for drug removal. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and should preferably be stored in its original packaging.
