Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers, relief of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and maintenance therapy effect
This medication is used to treat ulcers in the stomach and duodenum and to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Additionally, it aids in long-term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and is used in conjunction with antibiotics for gastrointestinal ulcer patients infected with Helicobacter pylori. It is also effective for treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This medication is useful for improving symptoms of various gastrointestinal diseases.
For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: In adults, administer Rabeprazole Sodium orally at a dose of 10 mg once daily. If necessary, may increase to 20 mg once daily. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Administer 10 mg or 20 mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not treated, may further administer 10 mg or 20 mg orally twice daily for another 8 weeks. For gastroesophageal reflux disease
This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to specific components or those who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. It is contraindicated for patients taking certain antibiotics or specific cardiovascular medications, as well as for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Caution is advised for patients with impaired liver function, the elderly, and those with a history of drug allergies. If symptoms of allergy, such as skin rash or itching, occur during use, discontinue the medication and consult a healthcare provider immediately. Regular blood tests and liver function tests are recommended, and any unusual symptoms should be reported promptly. This medication can cause various side effects such as gastrointestinal symptoms, headaches, and dizziness, so if symptoms worsen, inform a healthcare provider. Long-term use may increase the risk of fractures and magnesium levels should be checked regularly. As this medication may interact with other drugs, inform your doctor or pharmacist of any concomitant medications. Caution is needed while driving or operating machinery due to the potential for drowsiness or dizziness. It is advised to avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Safety for use in children has not been established, so it is recommended not to use it. When taking the medication, do not chew or crush the tablets; swallow them whole. Keep out of reach of children and avoid transferring to other containers. There may be a slightly increased risk of gastrointestinal infections while taking this medication, so consult a healthcare provider if diarrhea persists. Long-term use of this medication may lead to vitamin B12 absorption disorders, so caution is warranted. If any unusual symptoms appear during use, discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare provider.
