This medication is used to relieve various symptoms caused by colds. It improves a range of discomforts from nasal symptoms such as runny nose and nasal congestion to sore throat, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain. It helps patients feel less discomfort from cold symptoms so they can carry out their daily activities comfortably. Therefore, it is used for the relief of cold symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults (15 years and older) take 1 packet three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medicine can burden the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three glasses of alcohol per day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. Acetaminophen included in this medicine can rarely cause serious skin reactions, so if skin rashes or allergic symptoms occur after taking it, immediately stop taking it and consult a professional. The maximum daily dosage of acetaminophen should not exceed 4,000mg, and this medicine should not be taken with other acetaminophen-containing products. Individuals with an allergy to this medicine or its ingredients, those who have previously experienced asthma, infants under 3 months old, or those taking certain antidepressants or psychiatric medications should not take this medicine. During the course of treatment, do not take cough suppressants, other cold medicines, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Children who have had or are suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, those with allergic constitutions, or those with multiple conditions affecting the liver, kidneys, heart, etc. must consult a professional before taking this medicine. If abnormal symptoms such as rashes, itching, vomiting, swelling, dizziness occur during treatment, immediately stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor, and if symptoms do not improve after 5-6 doses, seek professional medical attention. Children under 2 years of age should generally not use this medicine except in special circumstances. Follow the prescribed dosage and administration, avoid prolonged use, and refrain from alcohol during treatment. Drowsiness may occur during treatment, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. Be careful with muscle-related side effects if taken together with certain diuretics or products containing licorice. Caution is needed when taking this medicine with certain antibiotics due to the possibility of metabolic acidosis and if any abnormal symptoms are suspected, the use should be discontinued. Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool and dry place out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight, and do not transfer to other containers.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor → severe allergic reaction
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/eye mucous membranes → severe skin adverse reaction
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by cough + fever → respiratory problems
  • Skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver dysfunction (jaundice)
  • Reduced urine output

Mild side effects

Rash, redness (congestion), itching, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling, difficulty urinating, persistent or severe thirst, dizziness, anxiety, tremors, insomnia, high anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take with cough suppressants, expectorants, other cold medicines, antipyretics, or oral medications containing sedatives or antihistamines (oral medication for rhinitis, motion sickness, allergy). Diabetic medicines, gout medications, arthritis medications, anticoagulants, steroid drugs, barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, potassium-containing preparations, licorice-containing preparations, glycyrrhizin or its salts, loop diuretics (furosemide, etc.)

Food interactions

Do not consume alcohol during treatment.

Storage

This medicine may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. The storage temperature should be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the medicine for a longer period.
