For patients who have been on long-term steroid treatment, the steroid dosage should be gradually reduced when starting this medication. In patients with decreased kidney function, blood drug levels may increase, so starting from a lower dose is recommended and the dosage should be adjusted or discontinued if abnormal symptoms occur.
