Precautions

This medication is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia, and a proper medical evaluation must be obtained before use. Precautions are necessary for patients with heart disease or unstable cardiovascular conditions as these may lead to excessive strain on the heart during sexual activity. Rarely, priapism lasting longer than 4 hours or associated with pain can occur, and immediate medical assistance should be sought if such symptoms arise. Co-administering with nitrates or nitric oxide donors can cause severe hypotension, so avoid using these medications while taking this drug. Patients who have had recent myocardial infarction, angina, stroke, or uncontrolled hypertension and hypotension should not take this medication. Those with genetic retinal disorders or hypersensitivity to this medication should also avoid it. Combining with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended due to undisclosed safety and efficacy. Patients with severe impairment of kidney or liver function should use this medication cautiously and under the guidance of a healthcare professional, especially in severe liver impairment cases. This medication may lower blood pressure when taken with alpha-blockers or antihypertensives, so consultation with a doctor before usage is advised. Taking this medication with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase the exposure to tadalafil, necessitating dosage adjustments. This medication is not for use in women or children. Should sudden vision loss, hearing decrease, severe headache, chest pain, dizziness, or other symptoms occur during treatment, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose should be managed with standard treatment; dialysis does not significantly affect the elimination of tadalafil. Keep this medication out of reach of children and maintain its original packaging. While this medication can be taken regardless of meals, be cautious as combining it with alcohol may exacerbate hypotension and dizziness. It is advisable to check personal reactions to this medication before driving or operating machinery.
