These conditions can lead to the accumulation of phlegm due to inflammation or increased mucus secretion in the bronchi or throat, making it difficult to expel. Treatment focuses on facilitating the smooth expulsion of phlegm to ease breathing and alleviate symptoms. This medication aids in expelling phlegm in these respiratory diseases to improve symptoms.
For acute conditions, adults aged 12 and over should take 600 mg once a day with a small amount of water before meals.
For acute conditions, children aged 12 and over should take 600 mg once a day with a small amount of water before meals. For cystic fibrosis, children aged 6 and over should take 600 mg once a day with a small amount of water before meals.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who have an allergic reaction to this medication or its components. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum should avoid this medication as it may worsen their symptoms. It is safer for children under 2 years old not to take this medication. This medication contains lactose; therefore, individuals with genetic disorders interfering with lactose digestion should not take it. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should take this medication only when absolutely necessary and must consult a physician before use. Women who are breastfeeding should also consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication, as it is not confirmed whether it is excreted in breast milk. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur during use, and if such symptoms develop, you should stop taking the medication immediately and inform your doctor. Allergic symptoms like hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, and bronchoconstriction may occur; if such symptoms appear, you should stop taking the medication and consult a healthcare professional immediately. Severe side effects like difficulty in breathing have been rarely reported; if such symptoms occur, you should seek medical assistance immediately. This medication may reduce the effectiveness of certain antibiotics when taken together, so it should be taken with at least a two-hour interval. Do not mix this medication with other drugs, and avoid adding other drugs to the solution. Store in a safe place out of the reach of children and keep in the original container to prevent misuse or quality degradation of the medication. For inhalation formulations, individuals with asthma or poor respiratory function must consult a healthcare professional before use, and should stop taking it immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur.
